I was born in Canada and moved to Colorado in 1995. Growing up, I spent most of my time outdoors and to this day, I think nature is the most stimulating environment to be in. Needless to say, I derive a lot of inspiration from nature. I also find inspiration within myself as well as from other people. I believe people enjoy communicating their lives, stories, and perspectives to others. I’ve spoken with many of people, traveled many places, and from my experiences I have come to realize that there are as many truths as there are people whom experience the same things in completely different ways. I find these differences moving and fascinating, and I enjoy gaining a greater understanding of every person I come in contact with.

As long as I can remember I have been creating art, although painting became my serious passion during college. Since then, I have been experimenting with various ideas and styles in an attempt to produce visually and psychologically interesting art. Most of my art represents the energy, feelings, and non-visual aspects of people and events, however I also enjoy making more realistic works, such as landscapes and figures. Painting is usually enjoyable, but occasionally, because of a piece’s meaning or purpose, tension occurs. There are times I find myself working against my own aesthetic because I’d rather a painting be truthful than something that’s simply nice to look at. The tension arising from the denial of my visual preferences often challenges me to evolve my artistic abilities, and elicits powerful psychological responses from myself and viewers.
